Remember the scene. Start with a sentence.

Your first search

1. Install AI Gallery from Google Play and grant access to the photos you want to search.
2. Let the app build an on-device index. The first scan depends on library size, device performance and indexing progress.
3. Describe a scene in the search box, such as “sunset at the beach”, “a dog on the grass” or “coffee on a table”.
4. Review the results. Refine your description or matching threshold, or search within existing results to narrow them down.

Give your search a visible clue

Start with a clearly visible subject, then add a setting. Try “a dog on the grass” instead of “dog”, or “sunset at the beach” instead of “sunset”. These are query examples, not promised results; matches depend on your photos and index.

This works well when you remember what a photo looks like but not when it was taken. If you remember words in a screenshot instead, try text search in photos.

What is free, and what needs Plus?

Basic natural language photo search is free. Image search and restricting a search to selected albums or date ranges require Plus. Check the app for current prices and purchase options.

Know the limits

Photo indexing and AI matching run on your phone. Initial setup and translation model downloads for supported non-English queries may require internet access. Once prepared, you can search your local library offline.

Results are not an accuracy guarantee. Incomplete indexing, tiny subjects or unclear descriptions can affect matches. Read the offline and privacy guide for setup and data-processing details.
